I was thinking about how a piece of art can connect us through
the generations. As a
gardener myself, I love the quiet, suggestive image of nurture and strength. The
reds
symbolize our blood ties to the past, while the greens are a reference to new
hope for the
future. The gold and silver suggest the richness of our ancestry and heritage. I
draw
more glass around the top to give it the feeling of flowing down. I bend and
twist the lines to give energy and dynamics to the imagery. The black glass
that I
developed will also glow or “flourese” when exposed to the ultraviolet rays of
the sun.
