Gloryhole              

This is the appliance we use to reheat the work as we are creating.  The gloryhole runs hotter than the furnace so the gather of molten glass can be reheated quickly.  This is the colour of heat! We do not know why it is called the 'gloryhole'.  We built all of our own equipment...this is a barrel that was lined with fiberfax (a high heat fibre batting).  Then we cast a high temperature refractory on the inside.
